Reading

Author/illustrator - Sandra Morris

On 15 August as part of SuperClubsPLUS Tigest R18, Marvin R18, Lita R17 and Lester R17 visited the National Library of New Zealand to meet with author/illustrator Sandra Morris.  Her book called “Sensational Survivors” was runner up for the New Zealand Post Awards and is now available in our school library.  Sandra was interviewed in the HOT SEAT online.  It was a very exciting experience and this is what Tigest had to say about her experience.

Sandra Morris is a nice and kind lady.  When I got chosen to be part of the interview, I was really happy.  We did lots of work and I had to train Shahieda as well.  When the day arrived I felt really confident.  We arrived at the National Library and did not know where or who Sandra Morris was.  It was an awesome experience.

Book review

Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Jeff Kenney
(The last straw)

Once there was a man named Frank Heffley.
Frank Heffley actually thinks he can get his son, Greg
to toughen up and get him to organise sports and
other manly things.

Greg is able to side step his father’s effort to change him,
but when his dad threatens to send him to military
academy he realizeshe has to shape up ...or get shipped.

I enjoyed reading  this book because it is really cool and in fact very funny
and wil make  you laugh too.

Book review

Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Jeff Kenney

My  favourite part is when Greg Heffley chases the kids
with a stick that has worms on it.
He thinks that being a kid really stinks and nobody knows
better than Greg Heffley, who finds himself stuck in high
school,  where under sized weaklings share the hallways
with kids who are taller, meaner and already shaving.

When Gregg breaks his friendship with Rowley, he gets jealous.
Just when Greg thinks his back-up friend is with him, his whole plan
get’s destroyed.

I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend to read it because of the setting
at school and home and also It has some really funny parts in it that makes you laugh.
