Samoan Language week 26 May - 1 June 2013

Talofa everyone!

This week is Samoan Language week.

The theme for this year is: Fafaga fanau i upu ma tala. Tautala i lau gagana - Feed the children with words and stories.  Speak your language.
The Samoan language is the third most commonly spoken language in New Zealand.

For the week, our morning notices will be read in Samoan and we will have lots of reading and writing activities in all the classrooms.  You can wear a lavalava, an ula or a sei to celebrate.  Come and join us in this funfilled week.

Here are a few simple greatings:

Talofa Lava      -    Hello
'o a mai ' oe ?    -    How are you?
Tofa                 -    Goodbye
Fa' afetai          -   Thank you

So come on buddies, wear your lavalavas, I am most certainly going to be all dressed up in the library.

Love,
Marvin X
Ps: I am still around and have not forgotten about you.  It has just been so cold, so snug up with a lovely book and keep warm.
